This is a Blog with one simple intention: to Draft the Reverend Al Sharpton to run against Sen. Lindsey Graham in South Carolina's 2008 senate election. Currently the democrats do not have a candidate to run against Graham, nor does it seem likely they'll find one. South Carolina's two US house members won't risk their seats for a race they'll probably lose. if the democrats even send someone against Graham, it will most likely be some sacrificial lamb of a state senator. The best part about running Al Sharpton is that he will be running for the seat once held by Strom Thurmond, not only the segregationist candidate of 1948 and all around racist, a person whose ancestors owned Sharpton's ancestors. Graham may face opposition in the primary, which would hurt his chances in the general, coupled with Rev Al's national presence and a possible Obama candidacy could lead to a SENATOR Sharpton. we're here to get Rev Al to run and try to purge South Carolina of it's past racism and maybe help shift it a little closer to the center. failing at that, a Graham/Sharpton race would be entertaining.
